Annual run-walk to raise funds for cancer foundation ﷯ THE FOUR-PERSON Checker Ladies team of Jennifer Woods, Linda Schnakenberg, Brenda Wilson and Robin Allen won the traveling trophy at last year’s Johnson County Cancer Foundation 5K run-walk for raising the most money. Warrensburg – The Johnson County Cancer Foundation will sponsor the Sixth Annual Fighting Cancer through the Fairways 5K run-walk Sept. 12 at Keth Memorial Golf Course. Participants may run the 5K race or walk one or two miles along the cart paths. They can choose to become either a team captain or a team member, or enter as an individual walker/runner. Team captain packets are at Equity Bank, 612 N. Maguire St.; F&C Bank, Warrensburg; and at Mike Keith Insurance, 123 E. Gay St. All participants will receive an event T-shirt. Registration cost for individuals is $20 or a donation of their choice. Pre-registration will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Keth Memorial Golf Course. Registration on the day of the event will begin at 7 a.m. and the walk/run will begin at 7:30 a.m. A light snack and water will be provided.
