Pork Roast Sales Helps 2 Charities Warrensburg – The Rotary Club completed the sale and distribution of pork butts, with proceeds to benefit area charities. The charities to received net profits, Rotarian Mark Pearce said Thursday, are Warrensburg Senior Center Care Connections and Johnson County Cancer Foundation. “We totally ran out of pork roasts,” event Chairman Richard “Buzz” Herman told a crowd of about 60 Rotarians and guests gathered at Traditions, the golf course restaurant at the University of Central Missouri’s Keth Memorial Golf Course. Those who ordered but did not pick up roasts still may find the frozen variety at Alewel’s Country Meats, 911 N. Simpson Drive, across from Pizza Hut. The pork roast sale grossed $10,155 this year, Herman said. “Pork is down this year so we will make even more profit,” he said.
